Laws, Rules, & Ethics

Law

The State law that governs respiratory therapists and polysomnographic technologists is adopted and amended by the State Legislature.  A license to practice respiratory therapy and polysomnography is a right and responsibility granted by the State of North Dakota to protect those in need of respiratory therapy and polysomnography services.  All individuals licensed by this board have a duty to understand the law and keep up with any changes to the law.  (Effective 8-1-2017)

Administrative Rules

The Administrative Rules are promulgated by the Board with subsequent approval by the Attorney General’s Office and the Administrative Rules Committee of the legislature.  Once enacted, administrative rules have the full force and effect of law.
